Having access to the level 10 weapons and mods changes the game. Think part of the equation you left out is whether this is the character's first playthrough or a NG+.
Played Mass Effect 2 and Mass Effect 3 on a PS3 console and controller years ago - now wondering whether to consider the Legendary Edition on PC sometime. Thanks for the honest and candid feedback.įor a bit more context, are you playing on console or PC? I assume PC makes it easier to aim and control recoil, but am interested to hear the differences.
I think at level 10, the Hurricane would have real potential with the recoil damper and the heat sink, or replace the heat sink with mod of your choice. I seriously tested it, and I was simply killing enemies faster with the Tempest and Hornet. The Hurricane is a beast, but it's heavier and you can't put both the recoil damper and the ultralight materials on the same gun. The Hornet did not fit my rhythm and it looses accuracy if you fire too fast. I like the Phalanx a lot, but SMGs are still better at shield stripping. Their main competition were the Phalanx, the Hornet, and the Hurricane. Overall I preferred the Locust because it was lighter. Both the Tempest and Locust are on the lighter side. I was carrying the Black Widow, so I needed a lighter SMG. First, it was easier to keep my shots on target, and I was cutting down enemies faster with them. I ran the Tempest with the recoil damper and heat sink mods, and the Locust with the ultralight materials and heat sink. I found the Tempest and Locust most effective. Everything stated below was for a first playthrough, so limited to level 5 gear. I think part of the equation you left out is whether this is the character's first playthrough or a NG+. I did recently complete an Infiltrator playthrough. Other weapon recommendations that fulfill the mid-close range niche of the secondary weapon are welcome. generic recommendations and word of mouth. Looking forward to detailed analyses of the weapons, rather than. Ditto armour piercing mod on Heavy Pistols.
Was curious about which weapons would turn out better.Īm sure that I would put High Velocity Barrel on any selected SMGs to pierce cover and minimise damage reduction of SMG damage. Ran with Geth Plasma SMG and Tempest as the secondary weapon bacl then, but could not get a good feel about overall options. Played until Priority Tuchunka and then stopped from real life issues. Played Mass Effect 2 as a Widow Infiltrator, then imported him into Mass Effect 3. the Recoil mod on N7 Hurricane fixes the recoil problem, but the weight is quite heavy. If comparing the weapons, please state clearly what mods are equipped, how this would affect the performance, and any potential tradeoff with another mod.
If character level makes a difference in weapon performance, feel free to point out.ĭamage numbers are preferred for better comparison.įactors of comparison are: damage, recoil management, performance of handling between console and PC (whether a weapon is easier to control on one platfrom than the other), range, accuracy, weight, ammo scarcity (i.e.
While I am not sure how much this affects weapon-power synergy, assume starting Mass Effect 3 with a level 30 character imported from Mass Effect 2. The secondary weapon for the Snioer Infiltrator is mainly to:Įngage enemies at medium range when sniping is overkill.įor armour, assume Armax Arsenal Arm piece and Armax Arsenal Shoulder piece (+ weapon damage, + head shot damage), Kuwashii Visor (+ head shot damage), Hadne-Kadar Legs and Chest armour pieces (+ weapon damage).įor game difficulty, bonus if your analysis is based on higher difficulties like Insanity.Īssume that you can get up to level 5 weapons as per a first time run. Mods on sniper rifle will be Spare Ammo + Heavy Barrel (damage + armour piercing + weight). For conservative estimates on weight penalties, feel free to assume Black Widow. Sniper Rifle used is either a Black Widow or Valiant. Operative Mastery is weapon damage + weight capacity + Sniper damage.Įnergy Drain is max damage + recharge bonus at rank 5. Sabotage is Backfire + Recharge + Tech Vulnerability. Tactical Cloak is max damage and sniper damage.
This is to mainly ask for a comparison between secondary weapon options available for a Sniper Infiltrator in Mass Effect 3.Īssume a Sniper Infiltrator Build with Energy Drain as bonus power and Sticky Grenade is the non-maxed power.ĭisruptor ammo maxed for single target damage.Ĭyro is squad plus armour weakening bonuses.
